Native to the Mississippi and Missouri, Map turtles are one of the smaller species and can live for up to 40 years.   *Crocodile Creek* Dare you board the scariest new ride in the South…a thrill-a-second boat ride through the all new Crocodile Creek, bringing you so close to the jaws of our resident crocodiles you’ll image you can feel their hot, steamy breath on your face!
If that’s not enough, in Easter 2009, The Turtle Sanctuary welcomes 100 new baby turtle residents. Each are about the size of a 50-pence-piece and were destined for the UK pet trade, but were confiscated by Customs officers when it was discovered they were not accompanied by the correct paperwork. Weymouth’s Turtle sanctuary is part of international efforts to generate captive bred stock for future re-introduction programmes.   In 2008 we saw Weymouth SEA LIFE open its doors to Adventure Island; a fantasy land with four amazing children’s rides – a drop ride, tugboat, pirate ship and seal themed roundabout. A great place for any young explorer!
